How it all began
When we became parents ourselves, we often sat in the evenings with beautiful children's books on our laps. Lovingly illustrated stories where you immediately sense that someone really thought hard about doing something good for children.
It was exactly this quality we missed in digital offerings for children. Gaming for the youngest often felt too loud, too overstimulating, and built around addiction.
That is why we founded Ahoiii. From day one, our goal has been to build digital toys with the same care and warmth you know from good children's books.
Understanding the world, not learning it by heart
Children get to know the world through play. What could be more natural than using that to make the world tangible for them?
Game design is learning design
Almost every child today plays video games. To us it's clear: the future of learning can look like a good game, because thoughtful game design is also good learning design.
That is why we focus on conceptual understanding. Digital toys offer a wonderful way to make complex relationships and interactions within a system tangible for children — quietly training systemic thinking through play.
Learning a healthy approach to mistakes
There's a moment every parent knows: a child tries something, fails again and again — and eventually it works. The proud smile afterwards is unforgettable.
That is exactly the safe space our digital toys offer. When a child makes a mistake here, there are no red crosses or loud error sounds. No frustration — just a gentle invitation to try again, in a different way.
In play, children learn to embrace failure as a challenge. They build up a healthy tolerance for frustration and, almost incidentally, become confident problem-solvers.
Resilience for the world of tomorrow
Our children will grow up in a society that is changing fast. Many of their future jobs don't even exist yet. What they really need is the ability to think creatively, work with others and find unconventional solutions.
We want to give children the tools to think outside set patterns and to help shape the world of tomorrow with courage.

We are parents ourselves — and that's exactly how we work. In everything we do, one simple question guides us: would we give this to our own children?
Towards the child
Children are little personalities with their own thoughts, feelings, needs and limits. That is why we meet them with respect, patience and genuine attentiveness. We do not want to hold children back, overwhelm them or push them in a particular direction. We want to give them a loving space where they can be curious, try things, fail, laugh and understand. For us, good children's apps don't start with the question of how long a child plays, but with the question of what is good for them.
